Summer + Baseball = Baby Brain?

So... the "Hubby" had 2 ball games today... holy HOT and of course I had a baby brain day! First it started off with me putting on sunscreen on everyone in the house....except myself... yep... one side of my body is burnt to a crisp... bah!

Then to top it off...going to the second game...do I not knock over the baby bag... and in the midst of rushing..I threw everything back in the bag. Got to the park...and yep... NO BOTTLE... have the water and formula...but..nothing to put it in! **sigh**... thank goodness a friend of mine (and another Mother)...stopped for me and grabbed a sippy cup for her... which by the way... she wouldn't even take, so I ended up pouring it in her mouth (which she thought was fun..so she actually stayed hydrated) What a day...thanking my lucky stars right now its almost over...

Got The Minky Chenille Toddler Blanket! - Finally!!

I got the blanket today! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! Its soooo soft and "M" likes snuggling with it already! Maybe this will help her fall asleep faster at baseball....lol.

GRRRRR.... My Purse Obsession May Have Just DIED!

Ok.. so a few weeks ago I posted that I ordered a purse from Aldo..and they were gonna ship it for free...blah blah blah... Well.... after 10 calls between customer service and UPS (Aldo is blaming UPS saying that they didn't scan the package, but took it...and UPS is saying that Aldo never shipped it) I had to go back to the store to get a refund!!

SO MAD! Because I paid debit...customer service could only send out a cheque to me to refund or I had to go to a location.

This was waaaaayyy more trouble than it was worth. PLUS...to top it off.... they couldn't re-order it for me because their warehouse didn't have anymore in stock..so they'd have to do a transfer from another location to one that was closer to me if I still wanted it.

Me...being the "get it done now" type of person I am... went to a location closer to me than the one I originally ordered it from as soon as I got off the phone with customer service (again)...got my refund...and ended up buying another bag...oops....well... "exchanging" it... whatever... I got money back from the transaction....its cute...don't hate....lol.

Learn 'N' Turn Utensil - Product Review

After to speaking to a representative from Learn 'N' Turn, they decided that "M" would be perfect for reviewing their product. We received the purple Learn 'N' Turn in the mail... and I was sooooo excited to try it out.

For those asking..... what is a Learn 'N' Turn Utensil? It is an adjustable utensil that can be interchanged with either the fork or spoon attachment. It allows your toddler to learn how to feed themselves by being able to adjust the angle of the head that is attached to make it easier for them to get it in their mouths.

A little bit of a background....."M" is starting to learn how to feed herself but can't seem to get the spoon in her mouth properly, so she gets frustrated. For snack time I decided to give her some pears...and try to let her feed herself with the Learn and Turn. Yes, she got covered in it like any toddler does...but.. she "got" it right away. She even figured out how to change the angle of the spoon (the fork attachment was not going to work with pears) and actually.. it has been the biggest success with self feeding that we've had so far!

So...your probably thinking... ok..what happened? I washed it for her...gave it to her...she stuck it in the pear and then in her mouth... weird eh? I couldn't believe she totally did it! I let her play with it..she stirred the pears (even with the utensil being bent) and totally shoved every last piece of pear in her mouth...well what wasn't on her hands or in her hair... LOL. It was awesome!

Its really light... the plastic is thick...so I don't see it breaking anytime soon...and comes in 4 colours...which is GREAT! And a bonus...its totally dishwasher safe!

Kid Steals Update!

I contacted Kid Steals about why I hadn't received the blanket and pillow case I ordered. Apparently the pillowcase is on its way...but the post office lost the other one so they're sending a new one... um.. how does that happen? Did they just forget to send mine out? Because the pillow case they gave me a customs number where this one they didn't...and they were quick to say that they'll send another one... hmm.. whatever... as long as I get it...and its the one I ordered I really don't care. Thank goodness it wasn't a gift for someone... imagine? hi... here's your empty box that a REALLY nice blanket was suppose to be in... LOL

Got The Zoobie In The Mail!

So I got the Zoobie in the mail today... must admit... totally not as cute as the picture. The only thing I don't really like is the material they used to make the straps to bring the animal from the pillow form to the stuffed animal form. The Velcro sticks to the material and its kind of annoying and I can see it fraying with a lot of use. I like the soft material of the animal but don't really like the quality of the blanket itself. Overall I like the idea of this... we'll see how my little guinea pig likes it!

The other thing I noticed is that I recieved both the Baby Steals products....haven't recieved the Kid Steals ones yet and they were ordered before this one... weird.

Baby Steals - Got The Hat!

So I bought "M" a hat on Baby Steals a few weeks ago... go it yesterday! LOVE IT! Its a bit big for her right now...but she's got a ton of hats that currently fit. Quality is fantastic... what you see is what you get, especially if you already know what the product is. Where they save the money is on the packaging. Literally it was just the hat in a shipping bag. No paper (everything is emailed)...and no stuffing...nothing... so it saves some trees. Overall experience went really well for the first time ordering from them...

Hey Goldie...I'm coming after your locks!

Ok... people... I get it... M's hair is getting long... and unfortunately its only on top because they shaved both sides of her head in the NICU to try to get an IV in. So yes... she kinda has a reverse mullet... kinda....lol. Well...at least its filled in and doesn't look like a comb over anymore, that was fun!

She's got all these blonde curls now...and if I pin it...it looks so cute. So do I go and have some stranger hack them all off? **sigh**

I think it may just be that time... and I honestly think the only way I'll actually cut is it if I do it on a whim. Hmm... maybe I should bite the bullet and take her to the mall...

Sweet Pea Baby Food - Product Review

The first company to jump on board with my testing was Sweet Pea Baby Food.....

I received their package in the mail and they sent me samples of the Sweet Apple and Banana Pear organic cookies, as well as a full size pack of the Pumpkin Spice organic cookies and even a Sweet Pea Baby Food bib (even that was of great quality).

Lets just say "M" ate cookies for both snacks.... and she ate a ton of them!

I am "That" Mom that tries everything before giving it to their child... I tried anything from her vitamin drops to baby orajel...so I figured I may as well taste her cookies too!!

I must say.... I think I matched her cookie for cookie! LOL. They were awesome... and had a sweetness to them that wasn't overpowering. They were really fresh and the texture was even a little flaky, which is a nice change from those hard baby cookies all our toddlers are use to.

I even kind of tested "M" at the second "snack time". I gave her a Heinz chocolate cookie, a Mum-Mum and a Sweet Pea organic cookie and she went straight for it.....completely ignoring the other two until she ate every crumb of the pumpkin spice one.

I honestly have to say...these are a hit in my house!!! They can be found at numerous stores but 2 of the big ones are Metro and Longo's!

Product Testing

I have been contacting a few companies about possibly testing some of their products :)

Once I've gathered a few different companies and products I'll be posting another blog on Oh Baby! about all my reviews... or really I should say "our" reviews.... "M" is going to have to be my little guinea pig!

I'll also keep my readers on here in the loop as to which companies come on board with me... and who's hot and who's not....

Hopefully I can get some great companies that are willing and are interested in seeing how a "go-getter" Mom like me and my little Sweet Pea like their products :)

I want to also ask my big network of Mommies if they like the products as well! So, ladies....don't be surprised if you get a few calls from me....hahaha

Do I have a problem?

I just wanted to throw this out there...

Is it bad that I can walk through Toys R Us and immediately know what's new? And I don't mean....look at something a few times and ask someone about it... I just KNOW that its new!

I think it may be partially because I have a photographic memory and notice things that are "out of place" or "don't belong" fairly quickly. It could also be that I think I'm in there like every other week... and I actually contemplated getting a part time job there just to get the discount...lol. Hmm.. or it could be their emails I get weekly?... maybe I look at them too much... LOL...

Whatever it may be.. I think I sometimes know more than the people that actually work there, and its funny... a lot of pregnant women tend to come and ask me questions about products... or to ask my opinion on something....why me?.... when there's an isle full of people? Maybe I just have one of those faces you can trust, or maybe I give them a look when they pick up a product... who knows... at least someone wants to know my opinion....right?

My Obsession!

Ok.. I admit it... I'm completely and utterly a sucker for bags...totes...purses...and now diaper bags. It is actually getting ridiculous! I have an uncountable amount of each..yet... seem to always have room for more.

This post just didn't come out of no where... I totally bought another bag the other day at Aldo...but they didn't have it in stock...so they're shipping it to my house....lmao... it was totally 20% off the sale price..I couldn't help it. Did you know they ship for free?? I didn't know...I was totally surprised....and impressed actually.

Yes, my purse "needs" have changed...now I'm checking to see how many diapers and baby bottles...and snacks I can fit the "cute" bag that isn't meant to be a diaper bag. But man... this bag was totally hot... I had to! I almost bought it in red...but I really don't think I could sport a red bag.... not really my thing.

We'll see which next bag makes my heart skip a beat and how I can find a way for the hubby to not "notice" it.... LOL

Pampered Chef Stoneware!

A friend of mine dropped off my Pampered Chef order for me from the party I went to last month... like a kid at Christmas I unwrapped everything and starting playing with them.

I decided to make baked chicken for dinner tonight on the Medium Bar Pan I bought... all I have to say is.... literally that was the BEST chicken I've ever made. No I didn't change the recipe... or the cook time or temperature. It has to be that pan... man... even the baby ate it! LOL. And she's been Miss Picky-Pants lately!

I may just have to go through all my cupboards and replace EVERYTHING with stoneware...lol.. hmmm.. or host a party to get a discount... ya... that's what I'll do... hahahaha

To Dye or Not to Dye

I'm in a bit of a predicament... I think I'm ready for a new hair style... maybe some highlights... trying to decide what to do! I haven't had my hair really "DONE" in God knows how long..... and I think I deserve a change!

I do however wear a ponytail 24/7 and NEVER wear my hair down. Why you ask? Because I HATE having my hair in my face..and honestly I would shave my head if I could totally pull it off... but I can't.

Lets just put it this way... I haven't had it done in so long that my hair is back to the un-dyed... most desired..."Virgin" hair. Do I revert back to spending $120 on my hair every other month.. or do I decide to remain a "Virgin" for as long as I can?

I just got off the phone with Sandy at Oh Baby! magazine... and yep... I am their new blogger! WOOHOO!!

Bella's Birthday

Today "M" went to her first swimming birthday party... an no... I didn't get in a swimsuit.. and YES I made my husband go in with her! LOL.

She had a blast swimming around and even ate some pizza (first time ever!) for lunch...and of course she liked it! But... "M" eats like a bird so really she had like 6 bites...some snacks... and a bottle...walked around for a bit and crashed in the car on the way home. Hahaha! She doesn't even like cake...hmmm..maybe she isn't my kid! LOL

Daddy had a ball game today too... we decided not to go...waaaay to cold and windy for us to be out there!

Kids/Baby Steals - Minkie Toddler Blanket & Born To Love Hat

Every time I get an email from Kid Steals or Baby Steals... I ponder whether or not to actually buy something... Well I caved... I bought a Minky Chenille Toddler Blankets by Bebe Bella in Navy/Blue from Kid Steals. Yes, I know I have a GIRL... but everyone who knows me...knows I'm not a "girly" girl and will avoid pink at all costs...even though "M" actually looks really cute in it! Here is what it looks like.

I also bought a hat from Baby Steals... I couldn't help it... I now have this thing for hats....not only because she can now put them on by herself...but because.. seriously... have you seen my kid? She suits them..and looks sooooo cute! I bought her the black hat from Born To Love. Here it is... tell me its not the cutest thing you've ever seen! I LOVE IT!

Can't wait till they come...it was a pretty good deal and shipping wasn't horrible so hopefully I get them soon so I can throw the blanket in her stroller and she can wear her hat for nights at the ball park!  :)

First Ball Game of The Season!

Tonight...first baseball game of the season... my husband's team lost... BUT... did I not have the most perfect child on the planet? Heck Ya! She was awesome!

Not 1 tear was shed... she ate...played with the other girls and actually stayed awake till 9:30! Yes, she started to get a little antsy... but it was because all she wants is to do walk around... she's 28 inches tall... and my back is wrecked because of it...plus it was past her bedtime... so... not a huge deal... time to pack up!

I'm not the type of parent that rushes home for naps and bedtime...sorry kid.. you're in our world now...and we're not holding back at all...so hang on and enjoy the ride!!! :)

Does that make me the most horrible parent on the planet? I think not....she's always been awesome at other people houses... never really had an issue with her in any situation.

Yes, as soon as she got in her car seat she fell asleep right away, but who is going to complain about that? Like really? When we got home... we got her changed...and good night Irene! LOL.

Wow... I am truly impressed! To top it all off... I looked in her mouth at the park...and yep.. she cut her first molar! I wouldn't have even known... just caught a glimpse while she was munching on a goldfish, so I took a better look...and there it was!

If the whole season is going to be like this... you won't hear me complain once! Wish me luck!

For The Love of Sippy Cups!

Ok... so... "M" will not under any circumstances drink from a sippy cup. I'm thinking with the amount of money I've spent and the cupboard full of sippy cups, that I may have just spent her entire college funds on plastic.

She kind of "gets" the Avent ones... and she gets the Nuby bite ones...but I don't think its time to get rid of the bottle! She never took to any silicone nipples which is now becoming an issue as we try to transition her to a sippy cup.
