HEXBUG Nano - Product Review

I got to try out a HEXBUG Nano...and was really interested to see what this tiny robot could do. It has 12 legs and vibrates to move itself across the floor. If it tips over, it picks itself right back up and carries on. If something comes in its way... it changes direction and keeps going. Let me tell you...this thing is FAST! Man... it was crazy!

This would be awesome for a young boy that is into robotics and building "tests" for the Nano to go through. On their site there is a history of the product and the science behind it, challenges, the backstory, games, quizzes and even earning points.

HEXBUG carries different styles of these little robots including an ant, inchworm...the original and a crab! All of them come in a variety of colours and come in their own storage tube. The batteries are replaceable...so no worries about it dying and not being able to revive it! LOL.

It was kinda cool to play with.... actually we had a blast watching the cat chase it around...we thought it was hilarious, and he couldn't figure out what it was.

Thank you to HEXBUG for sending me out a Nano to try. It will make a perfect stocking stuffer for all the future engineers out there!

Katelyn & Co. - Product Review

Katelyn & Co sent me 3 accessories that they currently carry. I got a hot pink fancy flower clip, a knit headband in white/pink and a birthstone bracelet.

The knit headband is really well made... I also like that it fits 0-4 and is perfect for the upcoming season change. "M" kept putting this one on and off...so I think my challenge is going to be keeping it on... but she looked SOOO cute in it!...and..I have the perfect outfit for "M" to wear with this one! The added bonus is that it is super soft too... whatever yarn is used to make these are awesome because it's really...really soft.

The hot pink fancy flower is pretty! It is handmade, and they have added beads and sequins to the petals and the centre of the flower to add a little sparkle and shine. There is a strong alligator clip... I found this one slid out of M's curly hair... so I'm going to steal it to stick in my curls for special occasions and up-do's and when she's a bit older to understand not to touch it...lol.

The birthstone bracelet "M" will be able to wear for a long time. It looked super small when I received it, but she could slide her hand through it while it was on... so I stuck it on her ankle and she really wasn't bothered by it at all. 100% sterling silver and Swarovski crystals and pearls are used in the bracelet....and it also has links so you can extend the size too. I also loved that these were handmade!

Thank you to Katelyn & Co for sending me some products to review! Everyone needs to go check out their site...the have a ton....of different products like wipes cases....bags..accessories...tutus for the little princesses and some killer stuff that even Moms can use!

Angel Lily - Product Review & Giveaway!!

I got a few things from Angel Lily! I received 2 bows (Sparkling Black and Heavenly Aqua) as well as a Sweet Lolita headband in white :) Angel Lily makes a ton  of accessories and everything I got...was packaged really pretty...in pink organza bags (ready for gift giving).

The Sparkling Black bow..is perfect for special occasions! I can totally see "M" wearing this out to a wedding or somewhere fancy. It is made of black velvet and has small sparkly rhinestones all over it. I little bling..but not too much.. you know what I mean?

The Heavenly Aqua is perfect for all M's blue clothes...no one better mistake her for a boy now! LOL!!! I loved when she wore her jean skirt and a aqua tank... it pulled the outfit together!

The Sweet Lolita head band is like nothing I've seen before. It's made of some kind of stocking type material... like... nylons/pantyhose... you know what I mean? It's genius! It doesn't slip off M's hair at all! And..really.. with all her curls...sometimes it's hard to keep them in. It has a cute mesh-like flower with some sequins on it for a little sparkly touch. I actually really liked it. It's perfect for those kids that don't have a lot of hair...or very fine hair too!

Overall... I'm really impressed! I like that the whole bow is covered in velvet... to help the bows stay in your baby's hair... and that they use non-toxic glue! Awesome!!!

Big thanks to Angel Lily for sending me out some stuff to try out and for offering up a giveaway to my readers!!!! You guys are great!

Tee Wit - Product Review & Giveaway!!

Tee Wit makes a ton of onesies, toddler t-shirts, maternity t-shirts, gifts for moms, dads, and anyone else you can think of. They also have organic versions too! Basically... you pick out the saying you like... then what you want it on (bib...shirt...etc)... and they customize it and ship it out. Pretty cool...they have some really funny stuff... I couldn't even decide what to test. I figured I would stick with a white shirt with a Sweet Pea logo on it. It is 100% cotton and pre-shrunk (awesome!)...and it is "Hanes" branded. It was a bit big on "M" so she wore it as jammies a couple of times... but I think I'm going to put it away until she's a little bit bigger because I really like the logo! The quality is great and they're really fast...so it would be an awesome gift!
For all the ladies that have been asking me for cute personalized T's.... here you go :) Totally affordable, and super cute!

Little CB Eboutique - Product Review

I got to try out some really cool stuff from Little CB Eboutique! I got to try a bunch of different things. I received a
It will be the ice cream maker, lion duffel and princess cupcake set!

The EcoSnoopers Duffel Bag is so cute and "M" loved it! actually... I think it's been dubbed the "toy" bag...because she packed everything she wanted to take to baseball in it...lol. The lion toy comes off...and there's a lot of room...so I used it as her diaper bag too!

The cupcake set is SO cute! The set has 24 wrappers (2 designs) with princesses that match... they go on top of the cupcakes. The quality is awesome... and  so is the level of detail in them! They're perfect for baking with your little princess! The best part is..they carry everything to co-ordinate with these..so parties..get-together.. sleepovers...whatever.. Little CB Eboutiq has em' :)

So.. the Sassafrass Ice Cream maker....takes 4 AA batteries.... you need to make the mixture of cream and sugar on the stove (so adult help is required)...then you put your concoction in one of the sides of the container (yes..the other side is for another flavor!!! woo-hoo).. hit the mix button to mix anything else you threw in...then hit the freeze button and throw the whole thing in the freezer for 4 hours! Don't worry about having to stir it... it does it all by itself in the freezer when the mixture hits a certain temp.... I heard it turn on and off a few times. I was anxious to see if this actually worked... because...if you take a look at regular ice cream makers..they're expensive...and only do 1 flavour! I opened it up.. .I swear..there was ice cream...lol.. actually I made lemon freeze...but still... it totally WORKED!

Thanks so much to Cin for sharing these awesome products with me! I can't believe I made ICE CREAM!!! LOL!!! Everyone...take a peek at this site... it has some unique stuff that is perfect for gifts... Christmas is on its way!!

Bad Idea T-Shirts - Product Review & Giveaway!

Bad Idea T-Shirts sent me a T-shirt with a logo that says "You Can't Drink All Day Unless You Start In The Morning". I thought it was pretty funny.. I don't drink... but my hubby does...and it totally suited him. Sizing wise... it was actually big on both of us. I ordered an XL thinking they'd send me a women's shirt...but I received a basic T... so its got to be a work out shirt for me. Mind you...I think I've lost that shirt... he really liked it...LOL.

I like that the shirt itself is 100% cotton, pre-shrunk and really breathable. The actual logo was really well done.... it wasn't lifting in any area...or even cracking. Oh..btw... Bad Idea T-Shirts now carry American Apparel shirts (which is awesome, and different than other t-shirt printing sites).

Thanks to Bad Idea T-shirts for letting me try out a T and doing a giveaway! You guys are awesome!!

Wiggly Tooth Factory - Product Review

I received a tooth fairy pillow from The Wiggly Tooth Factory. What it is...is a small tooth-shaped pillow that has a pocket in the front... for you guessed it... your child's teeth to give to the Tooth Fairy. Then the Tooth Fairy can leave a little gift for them in the same pocket.

I love love love... the fabric the one she sent me is made of! Brown with butterflies all over it (very me!) and it has a brown ribbon so you can hang it off the door knob in your child's room. (they have sports themes etc for the little men too!)

The pillow is super plush...I'm just in love with this! They also carry.... teething towels...tins...bibs and a few other items that are cute too!

This is such a cute idea... I haven't seen anything like this before and I'm totally into handmade products... actually... I think I'm addicted now!

Thanks to Megan for sending me one of her awesome tooth fairy pillows!! I can't wait till "M" uses it for the first time!

Beyond the Shaker - Product Review

I got to try a few samples from Beyond the Shaker. Fumee De Sel, Garlic Shallot (my FAVE!!!), Himalayan Pink Salt (my new obsession!), Hot Habanero Blend (Hubby LOVED this one!), Murray River Salt and Windy-City Celery samples :) They sent me some awesome ones!!!

I like that the website has a summary of the salts.... recommended uses... a story of how the salt came to be and the premium ingredients. I did take their recommended usages and put some of them to the test! LOL.

Fumee De Sel was really interesting...it's slow-smoked over aged chardonnay oak barrels....which really... I was just impressed with the whole idea of this one... and it had a unique taste that was awesome in our home made burgers and even on the potatoes we roasted on the BBQ. It left a smoking "BBQ" taste in your mouth... Hubby really liked this one.

Garlic Shallot is one of my faves! It's a mix of Fleur de sel, Himalayan pink salt, organic garlic, & organic shallot (took that straight off their site). I LOVE garlic...and onions... so this was perfect for me because it had all my usual spices in one but added the Himalayan pink salt. I literally used this one everything... chicken... pasta...veggies...you name it... I threw some of this in or on it! LOL.

Himalayan Pink Salt is actually hand picked in the Himalayan mines....goes great with fish and is pink because of its high mineral content. I tried this one in my pasta sauce and it was great! This salt is perfect for those dishes that simmer for a few hours.

Hot Habanero Blend Hubby added to just about every meal for a few days. It has a "Mexican" type of feel to it.. ton of chillies... cilantro (which personally.. I'm not big on cilantro..but it wasn't overpowering), Hawaiian Black Lava & Red Alaea salts (which I just think is cool...lol) and a few others. We put it in the meat for taco salads one night and it was great.

Murray River Salt...this was really cool... it was more of a flake...it was totally different then your average salt. It comes from Australia...and literally melts in your mouth. It doesn't have an extremely salty taste... it leaves a nice aftertaste and a mild salt flavour. We used this pretty much on everything....lol.

Windy-City Celery is another mixed seasoning.... it has a mix of Murray River salt, celery seed, organic mustard seed, organic jalapeno, organic garlic and a few others...which make this a great "pop" to many dishes. I tried it in beef stew that I made...and it went really well... I'll have to find some different ways to use this one... it's really complex :)

Thanks to Beyond the Shaker for sending me soooo many samples... I really gotta get cooking!! LOL

Head Snuggler - Product Review

I got to test out a Head Snuggler... basically what it is a support for your child's head. You put it over the back of the car seat or stroller etc. and you place it over their forehead. It keeps your child's head against the back of their seat which helps prevent any strain on their necks when they fall asleep  (and have bobble head).

I found that this really worked...but got a TON of stares while I had her in the stroller. So... I think I'll keep it in the car for trips up to the cottage. It was easy to use... just had to slip it on the back of her car seat. She didn't let me put it on her while she was awake...so we had to slip it  over once she fell asleep in the car.

Obviously you want to make sure that it doesn't cover their face...but honestly.. this thing is pretty tight on the chair...so even when she was awake she couldn't play with it that much. It comes in a bunch of colours (I got charcoal)...is stretchy and has Velcro down one side to make it easier for you to get it on the car seat. There are also 2 holes at the top so you can slide the handles of your umbrella stroller through... I don't think I'll be using it in the stroller...but I like it for long rides in the car...especially for when she's already asleep and doesn't play with it.

It also doesn't take up a ton of room when it's off the seat.I just rolled it up and threw it in the centre console.
Thanks to Melrose Kids for letting me try out a Head Snuggler :)

bluecalla - Product Review

I got to test out a pocket clutch from bluecalla! Guess what?? They're all hand made and bluecalla is in T.O!! yay! LOL!!! They like doing custom orders...and even have a link to all the fabrics they have. Click here to see them! They sell handbags, purses, totes and toddler back packs too!!! It usually takes about 5-7 business days to get an order out (how quick is that?? wow)... but there are some ready to ship items too!

The clutch was awesome! I found a couple of different uses...from storing all my camera accessories such as extra memory cards...my USB key and the computer cable... to a quick wallet and my Blackberry..it was awesome! I liked the size of the clutch itself... the snap was awesome..and strong and I LOVED the pattern.

Honestly, I can't believe everything is handmade... man.. I thought I was awesome when I made "M" a quilt... which now.. looks like a 3 year old made it in comparison to Celine's sowing....LOL. She makes purses....wristlets...zipper pouches...lunch bags...you name it she has it! The fabrics are all really pretty and funky.... make sure you take a look at all her stuff! She has amazing feedback from anyone she's worked with from her Etsy shop!

Thanks soooo much Celine!
