Fisher-Price Toys - Product Review

Yay... "M" and I... well more her than me... got 2 review 2 killer toys from Fisher-Price! The first toy was the Chatter Telephone, it is part of their milestone for socialization. It is super cute, has a face on it... his eyes move as your little one pulls it around and the rotary dial is fun and sounds a little like a bike bell. Of course little miss chatterbox grabbed it right away and started "calling" her grandfather. She talked literally non-stop for like 2 or 3 minutes... I'm surprised she didn't pass out...she barely took a breath! This is awesome for those learning to talk... and well... perfect for all the little blabber-mouths out there! Once I showed her that you can pull it by the string she was dragging it around saying "Eyes.... MOVE"... lol... the eyes go up and down with the speed that you pull it...and she loved it!

The second toy we received...and I was astonished by (not over exaggerating at all...I swear) was the Loving Family Dollhouse. Firstly... because I thought we were getting the My First Dollhouse... which is a smaller version made for 2+... and this one is for 3+....is more intricate... and huge! It has 8 huge rooms... the whole house opens..looks like a Victorian 3 story mansion! Super easy to put together... snapped on the mouldings, roof...and a few trim pieces for the windows etc... and done. It comes with a full family too! A Mommy, Daddy and Twins (a boy and girl)...a dinner table 2 chairs and 2 booster seats. The sides fold up... the lower level (with the stairs) flips up to close up the back and keep all your pieces inside. Everything is washable.. and I love that we can add to it to help build her house and collection. She played with this non-stop until bedtime... yapping... and chatting to all the family members..telling "Daddy" to sit in the "red chair"...lol... it was awesome to watch!

Now... here's the thing about today... lol... I dropped her off for preschool today for the first time... I started another new venture....lol... and really it was just a crazy day for new beginnings. I called the preschool at about 10:30 am just to check in... apparently she was doing awesome... no tears...went on the potty... just a bit shy. I did well by not balling when I dropped her off this morning... so..overall good morning and afternoon.

I went to pick her up at 5pm and she ran to me balling saying she missed me (**sigh**)... they said it was the first time she cried today.... but...ate well...even napped! Hit traffic on the highway (surprise...... surprise) just to get home to find the hair bow I thought she lost this morning in the grass and a huge box on our porch. Got it inside... opened it up... gave her the phone and she was off and playing while I tried to sneak out the dollhouse.

Well...you know when you try to keep quiet purposely...and it always ends up being louder than it would have been if you just acted normal? Well ya... she totally saw it... ran to me with her eyes welled up as if she was about to cry and said "THANK YOU MOMMY!!!".... then went on to ramble on about something about her getting it because she was good at "school"... so yes... I have to admit...totally took credit. I also told her that if she's good the rest of the week she can get another set for her house... she said "deal"...and actually nodded.... LOL.

So now... I shall give the credit back to Fisher-Price and once again thank them for totally making today perfect for both "M" and I.... honestly, and truly 2 of the best toys for function, quality and development I have seen on the market... and yes.... we're totally furnishing the rest of her house...and possibly getting some more family members...because they are cute...and the details are awesome! Right down to the twinkle in their eye! Hmmm.. what time does Toys R Us close? LOL... oh...and if you can't tell... these are going on THE LIST!

Nutrisystem Sign-up!

So.. signed up today... still part of the NSNation... just a few changes because NSNation is American...and I'm well... Canadian.. so I'll be doing 2 months of the Basic Women's plan... if I'm successful on it... I'll probably add an extra 2 months myself... fingers crossed! Have a wedding in October coming up....so have to look semi-decent...LOL

I've been playing around with the online tools, have my BlackBerry all ready with the free Nutrisystem download.... just have to find out all the extras I add to the plan...and the deets. This is the first time I'll be trying something online...so a bit of a change for me.

Going to aim for a max of 65lbs to lose... not exactly sure if that's actually possible or not.. but I'll try my hardest!!! Setting myself my first 10lb goal once I receive my food (which should be about 10 business days..). So gonna watch what I eat as I wait for my stuff to come in and hopefully maybe lose a few pounds by that time to get me on my way to my first goal! Even have my ticker set up!

StickerYou Stickers (Tomoson) - Product Review

I received a sheet of stickers from StickerYou to try out for review. They are free form die-cut vinyl stickers that you can customize to what ever you'd like. I did a mixed sheet of a ton of different things that I thought "M" would like...she loves stickers...lol. The colour is great... she's stuck a few to sippy cups and they haven't faded yet. There are tons of choices... it took me forever to make our sheet LOL!

Custom is the way to go now...you can totally upload pics or even use your company logo! Shipping was ok... didn't take very long at all.

Baby Gators - Product Review

I received an embellished single alligator (partially lined) clip with a non-slip grip and a pink newsboy hat with purple sparkly gerber daisy with cupcake button centre from Baby Gators! The bow is killer... pink and black gingham.. with a puffy skull and crossbones in the centre... LOVE! "M" can totally pull off rocker accessories! I like that it isn't fully lined... I find ones that are tend to droop in curly lock's hair...the non-slip grip (small piece of thin foam) helped keep it from moving as well.

The pink newsboy hat (like a kufi hat with a brim) was really cute on "M"... she ran around the house with it on backwards...but that's totally not the point... it looked awesome on her. It came with large lavender gerber daisy a partially lined single alligator clip. It has the same non-slip grip so "M" can wear it in her hair by itself or attach it to a headband if she wants to. I liked the centre of the gerber daisy.... it had a fabric button (with a cupcake on it) and even a bit of bling...with the 2 small heart crystals looking like sprinkles to top off the icing.

Quality wise... actually... really good! No glue hanging out anywhere... the clips were strong and everything stood up to M's mayhem! Super huge thanks to Baby Gators for sending "M" some accessories to try out! She'll totally rock both of them at pre-school!

Mixbook (Tomoson) - Product Review and Discount Code!!!

I received a 20-page, 11x8.5 landscape, hardcover photo book from Mixbook for review. I absolutely love it!!! I got to design the book myself.... which was fun... yet time consuming...LOL. I kept changing my mind on what went where and the order I wanted the pages. I liked that Mixbook had standard "books" to help you choose a design...that had layouts and added extras like decorations, ribbons and tags. Everything was customized to my specifications... right down to the writing on the binding.

My Mixbook included 81 pictures.... including a huge family pic on the cover! It looks awesome! Brown and teal with some cream and pink daisy accents... super cute... and everyone that has seen it has asked where I got it! I was asked as part of the review to add 3 pics of the product I received... but every time I try to load my Mixbook it is giving me an error and resetting the web page... hmmm... so I added one of their pics for the Tomoson promotions section. Not sure if the issue is on my end or theirs... I haven't had a problem with any other web pages....

Fisher-Price Diapers - Product Review

I received some Happy Days and Happy Nights diapers from Fisher-Price for review. "M" is only in diapers at night and only actually wet them 1 time (and there was barely anything there).... so I decided that I should have a few Mommy Friends test them out to get the real low down on how they are. Features of these diapers include the SizeRight indicator (to make sure sizing and fit is perfect)...and an all stretch waistband to help keep it in place. The Happy Nights have an extra liner to make sure overnight accidents don't happen.

What I noticed.... they are really soft... and the elastic around the legs didn't leave a mark on "M". Little miss Skinny Mini actually could fit in these diapers and they really didn't give her saggy bum either. Your probably thinking... what did the other Moms say? Well... feedback was all positive... they both liked how the diapers fit and both chose the overnight ones as their new fave brand. One of the Mommy's has a little girl who has leak accidents all the time overnight... you know... those diapers that are the size of a softball in the morning... and weigh about 3 pounds! You know what I'm talking about... LOL. No leaks with these ones.... this Mom was happy to report! My other Mommy friend mentioned that the closures didn't pop open when the diaper was really full....which is what she really liked. Overall... both Moms thought Fisher-Price did a great job on these diapers... and if coupons and points were available when buying these... they would consider switching.

BudgetGagets.com - Product Review

I received 2 watches from BudgetGagets.com. Both watched are Hello Kitty (Cuuute... I love Hello Kitty and so does "M"). Both  have leather bands.... are white and have rhinestones going around the face of the watch. Each style comes in different colours... fit well and really... for the price... the quality is good!

One of the faces of the watch is white... the other one is more of a mocha/beige colour... I found the white faced one easier to read and I think it was my fave out of the two. The one with the darker face colour didn't have any numbers...which I didn't like.. there were just dots...but that's a personal preference. I liked that the white faced one had numbers that were easy to read and were on the larger side. The darker one also had the entire body of Hello Kitty with red accents... while the white on just had her face with silver accents.

So... just needed to bring something up... here's what happened...

In March I won a giveaway from a really cool blogger and was totally psyched about receiving this giveaway in particular because it was for a full outfit... pants, shirt and hair accessory (jackpot!..or so I thought).

Well... seems like it was too good to be true... I emailed the sponsor in March after I won and advised them on my choices.... got a response...few emails back and forth... waited a few weeks... then sent a follow up. I msg'd the sponsor on their FB wall... and basically they had no clue what my order was... so I sent another email. They said they didn't receive it. Then found it in their junk mail...but they had sent me a DM on FB by then asking what I won again...just a memory refresher for them (no problem...).

Gave them the styles and sizes again for the prize... they apologized..no worries.. I'm an easy going person.. and really... stuff happens... life happens. These messages were exchanged in mid-April... First week of May I sent a follow up requesting tracking info... no answer...again a week later... no answer.... another week later... no answer... today... was my breaking point. I don't have time nor do I want to hound anyone for anything... my readers don't do it to me... so why would I do it to anyone else? Plus...if there's ever an issue it's resolved the first and only time I am made aware of the situation.... I'm sure all my winners that had an issue would attest to that....and I'm proud of it too... just sayin'.

I think the worst thing you could do to someone is ignore them...so today I kindly advised them both by DM and on their fan page that I was no longer interested in receiving this giveaway prize....they deleted the msg off the wall.... (fyi... there were messages on the FB page wall almost daily...so they were totally ignoring me).Wanna hear the worst part? There are links on their fan page promoting another giveaway they are doing... like... really? I think I'm actually hurt that someone could actually do something like this... I would hope that none of my sponsors would or could ever do that to anyone.

Moral of the story....If you are a sponsor like this, please, do not contact me for a review and/or giveaway... I'm not interested in dealings such as these....and I will not tolerate such behavior...it's embarrassing. If you are too busy to do giveaways... don't do them... your word is everything when it comes to social media and online selling. You ruin your word... that's it... I know both I and the blogger will never buy from this sponsor...

In saying that... I totally feel sorry for the blogger who hosted the giveaway... she's never had anything like this happen and even offered to send me something herself (totally said no... appreciate the offer.. but not necessary by any means :)... I swear!)

Anyone else have similar things happen to them? As you can see... I've been totally respectful of the actual sponsor... no names or links... it's not my style... just thought I'd share my experience.....

SCKC - Product Review and Giveaway!!!

I received a Reversible Tank Dress from SCKC. Previously I did a review for them... and "M" still wears all the stuff we got to try out.. so I was super excited when they had asked me to review a dress from their new spring line! Right off the bat... LOOOOVE that the dress is reversible!! Even the hubby was like... this is awesome... because.. really we have I think one of the messiest kids on the planet! LOL! One side is a pink t-shirt dress with a cool purple butterfly decal on it. The dress is attached at the bubble hem so it has a band of the pattern of the racer dress on the other side with the t-shirt dress underneath. It's purple with doubled up horizontal stripes in orange and pink.

It is a cotton and spandex blend...so it washed well...colours didn't fade. If you're worried about where the tag goes when you reverse it... don't... it's removable.. I just took a stitch removed and it literally took me a minute to take it off....man I wish all tags on kids clothes were like this...they always end up bugging "M" and sometimes even scratch the back of her neck.

Huge thanks to SCKC for contacting me to do another review... with the way the temperature has been climbing... she'll be in this in a few weeks!

Kiki's Fashions (Tomoson) - Product Review and Giveaway!!!

I received a Black Long Sleeve Maternity Shirt from Kiki's Fashions. They sell trendy maternity clothes... like maternity dresses, shirts, pants... etc. The top I recieved...really doesn't even look like a maternity shirt.. which is awesome..because it totally means you can wear it before and after baby! The first thing I noticed was that it was really soft. It's a mix of cotton, polyester and spandex...and I really liked the thick band at the bottom of the shirt too!

They have a ton of stuff to choose from... it took me a long time to figure out what I was going to try out for this review... figured I'd keep it simple and try something that I knew I could pull off at any time :)

Snappy Socks (Tomoson) - Product Review

I received 2 pairs of Snappy Socks to review. These were created by a Mom of 5 children (I know...wow!!) ... they have little snaps in the cuff of each sock so they can snap together before you throw them in the wash. I usually use a small laundry bag for M's socks so this was a nice change to have the ability to just toss them in the machine without having to worry about the "Laundry Monster" eating any of the socks and making half her socks no longer pairs...lol. The snap on the inside didn't bother "M" at all..ther were cute... I got a grey pair with a pink striped cuff and a whit and grey pair that had a fushia heart on them. Style factor was a total bonus. The only thing I wish it had were the little grippy things on the bottom of the sock..we have hardwood floors and poor "M" wiped out a few times..but other than that.. they washed well and looked comfortable.

Flat Iron Experts - Product Review

I received a Avanti Nano-Titanium Croc Digital Flat Iron from Flat Iron Experts. Ok... the first thing I have to mention... this little puppy heats up in less than 30 seconds! It was nuts! I was a little hesitant on trying a thinner flat iron just because of the amount of hair I have....and really.. thought it would take me more time. In all honesty... it was probably faster... just because I didn't have to wait for it to heat up! It has a digital display that has the temperature on it... so you can adjust it if needed...it's really light and has titanium plates.. which add a little shine to your hair! Some of the other specs... smooth surface... so no snags along the way.. and the plates distributes the heat evenly... takes away frizz and fly aways, keeps in all the moisture in your hair and doesn't cause as much damage to your hair. It also has a negative Ion technology... which basically means it helps keep your scalp free of bacteria etc. The Far infrared heat helps to dry the hair from the inside out.
Overall...totally sold... goodbye to my old flat iron... this one is a bit smaller (1 inch) but it saves me a ton of time by not having to wait for it to heat up... and it straightens evenly... so I don't have to go over the same hair numerous times!

Bodycology and Hard Candy - Product Review

I got to review some Bodycology and Hard Candy products! From Bodycology I received a bottle of Hydrating Rich & Creamy Body Wash. I liked the scent of the wash... kind of smelled like cucumber/melon to me... not sure if it would smell the same to someone else, but I liked it. It contains aloe vera and vitamin E and helps keep your body hydrated all day. It also has Jojoba extract to help with the texture of your skin (good bye dry elbows...lol... just say'n). The best part was that it foamed up really well on my loofah...and washed away clean without leaving any residue.

The Body Cream I received was in their Cherry Blossom scent...it is a really thick cream that is great for dry skin. The scent for some reason reminded me of a perfume I use to wear a log time ago.. I can't remember the name of it..but I swear it's really similar, so it brought back some memories. This has aloe vera and vitamin E as well..didn't feel greasy after...but did leave my hands and legs feeling soft.

From Hard Candy I received Hide & Glow Cheek (duo cheek tint) in "Hot Date".. one said is a red-ish tint and the other is a maroon-ish tint. All you have to do is give a dab to the apples of your cheeks...blend in and its good for hours. You can mix the 2 colours together or separate... I liked the lighter shade for during the day and the fact that I didn't need a brush to apply it. You can totally throw it in your purse.

 The Glossaholic (Sequin) lip gloss (in "fireball") is crazy. What I liked was the HUGE (literally) applicator....its like no other gloss I've tried. The sparkles in this is too much for me to handle... lol. Love the shine of the gloss...but someone younger (not like I'm that old) could totally pull off the sparkles better than I can. I could only probably wear it as a top coat... and not even that much of it. I'm going to check out all their other colours though... because I'm totally into the actual feel and packaging of the product.

Lastly I got to try a Sheer Envy Primer. You can wear it on it's own or under your make-up to help keep the shine down! I found with this.. you totally only needed to use a tiny bit...and I liked it better under my make-up rather then alone as it didn't have enough coverage for me. Would I wear it to the grocery store alone? Yes... Out..out? No.. I need a bit of foundation too.... does it do what it says its suppose to do? Yes.

Overall.... I'd totally buy the Body Wash, Cream and Primer again. The lip gloss, I'd grab a different colour and try it out... and the cheek tint is totally convenient.

Partylite - Review and Giveaway!

 

A while back I did a review for Aileen, a Partylite independent consultant. Well...she has asked me to try out Seashore ScentGlow Warmer with a Calm Waters Scent Plus offering up a Melt for review! The warmer matches my house perfectly (thanks Aileen!)...it's very "beachy"....should be with the name "Seashore"!! It is a light blue, with a rippled effect that covers the whole thing... looks like the ocean!

Its really easy to use... plug it in and the electric hot plate melts the wax, it is ceramic...and it has a glow that is nice in a darker room. I really liked that the section that goes on the hot plate kind of locks into place.... it fits one way, to prevent any accidents (even though the wax is cool to the touch even when melted).

Aileen also sent me a  Calm Waters Scent Plus . It has 9 pieces int the tray that it comes in which breaks apart. It smelled really fresh... and when I opened the window and let a small breeze in... the house filled up with the scent. Totally not overpowering... almost like that smell you have a cleaned home! The melts come in over 40 fragrances... so mix and match all you like!
