Baby Trunk - Product Review

received the October box from Baby Trunk for review.  What is Baby Trunk? It is a monthly subscription where you get a box full of "Best of" products for ages 0-3 yrs old. All the products are unique and different (just the way I like it) and are also full size...which is awesome. The products are also geared towards the age and gender of your little one... which ensures you'll be able to use everything in the trunk.

It's really easy to sign up on their website... you can pick a plan, pay...and anticipate your arrival every month. Plus... it's only $35 a month..which I found to be a lot less for other subscriptions that give you less.

In the box I received we got... Boo, Bunny! By Kathryn O. Galbraith. M actually really likes this book! It was a cute board book about 2 bunnies on Halloween night. The illustrations were cute and M had it memorized in no time!

Also in the box was a Green Toys Race Car... M also stole this right away and was playing with it. It is made out of recycled milk containers....which I thought was really cool... she just liked that it could take a beating and it zoomed across the floor super fast.

The Giraffe Lovie Blanket from MiYim was really cute. It is organic...soft...washed well and is perfect for baby T when he comes. M made a prediction that this would be his favorite item to sleep with right off the bat.

We also received some Dapple Baby surface cleaner. I've reviewed them before... so I knew this was going to be great, and I wasn't disappointed. Literally you can wipe down anything...it doesn't leave a residue and there aren't any chemicals that can hurt your little one. Baby Trunk also snuck in a sample of the dish liquid..which is my fave...thank you!

Last but not least....we got to try out 2 dried organic baby foods from Nurturme. There are no preservatives.... and all you do is add water..formula or breast milk to it... mix it up (it's kinda like instant oatmeal)... and you're done. We tried them... M wasn't a fan... but really... she never liked baby food even when she was a baby. I actually was surprised by how good it was. For being dry it actually almost tasted like it was freshly made.

Overall these products would have cost you $55 with tax...where Baby Trunk surprised you for only $35 (or less if you picked a plan when you signed up)! They were awesome to work with, delivery was fast..and FREE...everything arrived in perfect condition..they even took the time to wrap up the Dapple cleaner so if it leaked it wouldn't get all over everything else.. just showed they cared. I also liked that they put in product information for everything that you are receiving. It helps you be able to find the products again if you'd like to purchase in future.

Thanks to Baby Trunk.... I really enjoyed this review...I love that the themes change every month and this subscription would make an awesome gift for an expecting mother... ahem..ahem...just say'n... a lot of my friends read this blog....LOL.

Carseat Canopy - Product Review and Giveaway!

The Knott Whole Caboodle (5 piece set) from Carseat Canopy! This set is awesome it comes with a minky slip cover and head support pillow... a lap blanket, car seat umbrella and the car seat canopy.

Firstly.... I LOVE the pattern... it's trendy... and the Minky grey accents on all pieces are killer. Everything washed well and it was awesome that all the pieces fit my Graco infant car seat.

The car seat canopy is cotton with a polyester minky lining. It went on super easy...looked great and provided enough shade and warmth without being bulky or awkward.

I liked that the car seat umbrella fit perfect and helped to transform the look of our seat. The lap blanket is perfect for use in the seat or otherwise. Even if I have to use it as an impromptu change pad...at least it's stylish and soft. M totally tried to steal this one... I wouldn't let her this time! LOL.

The slip cover and head support are perfect to finish off the set. I like that it replaces the whole thing in the seat itself...and that the head support looked like it actually came with the car seat.

I can't wait to use this set all the time. It's all ready to go on M's old infant car seat (and I checked the expiry, we're still good)...lol. Now we wait for T to come so he has a super cozy place to hang out while we're out an about.

Thank you to Carseat Canopy.... I love the whole set, there isn't anything I would change!

Udder Covers - Product Review and Giveaway!

I received a gift set from Udder Covers for review. I was really excited about reviewing this set because with baby T coming soon... I needed to really brush up on breastfeeding products and tricks. I wasn't able to breastfeed with M but I did pump...so I want to make sure if I'm able to with T I'm prepared. The gift set includes a Milk Bands nursing bracelet and 2 pairs 100% cotton breast pads by Udder Covers as well as 1 of their nursing covers.

The nursing cover is awesome its thin and breathable, washed really well and has a stiff neckline with a bend in it so you are able to see everything without showing everyone else! I LOVED all the patterns and choices they had, I chose the black and white one called Porter. It's trendy, discrete large enough to completely cover you and folds up super slim so you can throw it in your diaper bag! I also really liked that the neck strap was adjustable.

The cotton breast pads were comfortable, soft and washed well. The surging on them didn't fray when washing either. I liked that the were on the large side so it covered the inside of my while bra, not leaving any lines....oh... and also that they were flat. The disposable ones always seemed to give me the Madonna cones...if you know what I mean. These didn't at all. I did do a water test with them...dripped small amounts of water on them to see how much they can hold. They actually held a lot before soaking through.

Lastly the Milk Bands nursing bracelet. It allows you to track side and duration of feeds... I like that it's all in one bracelet. All you have to do is turn it inside out and flip the bracelet to switch sides and help you remember. I liked that the slides on the bracelet were easy to put on and didn't move until I wanted them to. This will make sure feeds are accurate...especially for my OCD tendencies... LOL.

Overall, everything is awesome quality and a great gift set for any new Mom. I've already stuck the whole set in my hospital bag! Thanks Udder Covers!

Oogaa‏ - Product Review

I received an Oogaa Baby Mealtime Set from 2 Blue Ducks (Canadian distributor) for review. It comes with a dish and 2 spoons (1 is shaped like a train...the other an airplane). The entire set is non-toxic, BPA, PVC and phtalate free!

I LOVE that it's microwaveable safe... I never really realized how many of M's plate sets ARE NOT safe in the microwave... at least 75% of them aren't.

I really liked that the silicone they use is safe on your LO's gums... so once T starts cereal... this will definitely be his first set. It's also slip resistant.. so that will also be a huge plus once he starts getting into stuff too! The bowl is also oven and freezer safe....which is pretty much unheard of when it comes to anything related to kids....and all the pieces are dishwasher and sterilizer safe too! Man... if it could feed my kid too... I'd buy a CASE! LOL.

This product... makes so much sense... make eating fun... and they'll eat! M actually liked this so much I had to let her use the train spoon for yogurt and make her share the other one for when T comes. I liked how pliable everything is....and the level of detail the set has. Everything is comfortable to use, cute.... even the spoons fit across the dish which really... it makes sense! Awesome...awesome product... I'm going to keep an eye out for more sets, loved it!

Thanks to 2 Blue Ducks for sending us out a set to review! New Fave!

The Healthy Shopper’s Picks for Fall 2012 - Product Review

I received a box full of stuff to try out....yes... they are The Healthy Shopper’s Picks for Fall 2012! I was really excited when I was approached to try all this great stuff out. What did I get? 11 different salad dressings...4 different sauces...dish liquid...toilet bowl cleaner....detergent...some feminine products (that are now packed in my hospital bag btw)... followed with a ton of great information.

So...where do I start....ok.. Ecover’s Pomegranate and Lime fresh scent dish liquid. LOVED the scent, how it didn't irritate my skin and how clean the dishes were after I cleaned them. I also really liked that it didn't clog up my automatic soap dispenser. I've noticed that almost all of the eco-friendly ones gunk up my dispenser... not this one. The ZERO Laundry Powder didn't have any dyes or coloring agents which was great.... I washed a bunch of stuff for baby T with it and everything turned out soft...and scentless. The Bay Breeze Toilet Cleaner smells awesome, and doesn't overpower you while using. All Ecover products are biodegradable, aren't tested on animals and packaged in recyclable containers.

Natracare’s Regular Natural Ultra Pads with Wings are GMO-free, 100% certified organic cotton and do not contain any plastics, latex, perfumes or gels. I obviously am not in need of these right now so I had a friend try a few and threw the rest in my hospital bag. The Natracare’s Organic Cotton Intimate Wipes with calendula and chamomile are also 100% organic cotton and have essential oils in them. There are no parabens or alcohol in them and can be found at Loblaw's.

On to all the sauces... and yes.. I actually did a taste testing session....LOL. The San-J’s certified Gluten-Free Teriyaki sauce had a light taste which I liked. It didn't overpower anything. The Gluten-Free Orange sauce would be perfect for stirfry....mmmm... stirfry...lol. I liked the consistancy of it and loved that it was also lower in sugar that any other ones I've tried. The Certified Gluten-Free Tamari Soy Sauce...not my cup of tea... and neither was the San-J’s Tamari Peanut Asian dressing but my parents loved it! I think they were just too rich for my pallet right now. San-J is a brewer of Premium Tamari Soy Sauce is my fave and we'll be replacing our normal one with it. I liked that all the sauces were gluten free... it was my first experience with anything gluten free...and it was a good one!

Now... the Simply Natural Organic Salad Dressings..holy moly... we got 11 different kinds. They are all made of premium certified organic ingredients which are grown and processed without all the bad stuff! On the list of faves was the Balsamic, Caesar, Ranch and Raspberry. I had to part with a few too because my parents fell in love with some too!

I also received a healthy alternatives guide called "Unjunk your junk food" which had healthier alternatives to all your classic pig out sessions! So I'll be keeping an eye open for some of the products I looked up in the book...plus I'll get to use all the coupons I received as well (which can be found online and in many health food stores.

Overall... awesome experience that opened us up to healthier alternatives to our everyday products! I'm sold! Thanks to The Healthy Shopper for reaching out and letting us try everything! This program is a great way to be introduced to products I have never heard of or would have tried. So thank you to Andrea and Randy to co-founders for starting such a helpful site and program up.

Gift Seals & Address Labels (Tomoson) - Product Review and Discount Code

I received some Gift Seals and Address Labels from Lovable Labels for review. I have worked with Lovable Labels in the past so I was really excited when I heard they had a new product come out for the holiday season. I picked "starry night" as the design for our labels... I thought Rudolph was really cute...lol.

There are 12 different styles to choose from and the package comes with 60 gift seals and 90 address ...more than enough to last us a couple of years! Some other really cute ones are: SNO Berries. Jingle all the Red...and Penguin Party.

I liked how well these stuck to the envelopes (which will soon be sent out... just waiting for M's school pics...lol)....and how clean and vibrant the printing is. They are really big as well...which made them easy to read. Some of the seals I'm going to use on the envelopes others I'm going to use as seals for some gift cards I'm picking up for some presents.

I loved that they also threw in some gift tags as a freebie... really cute..and a nice touch for the holidays! Thanks for another great experience Lovable Labels...shipping was fast...and it only took me a few minutes to choose, personalize and place my order! I look forward to working with you again in the future!

ReUsies (Tomoson) - Product Review and Giveaway!!!

I got to try out a new print that ReUsies has come out with.... if you remember I did a review and giveaway a while ago for them, and they've been nice enough to do another one! Some of the things I loved about these ones were that the had velcro on both sides of the bag..which made it easy to stick it in the dishwasher for washing  and now that M is older she liked sticking the top back to keep it out of her way while she was snacking! LOL. They are BPA and phthalate free...the new fabrics are AWESOME!

This time we received the AARRFF! pattern... I was a bit worried how they would wash because of the white fabric...but..no issues! I'm totally in love with the rocker chick pattern... I may just have to order them for myself! LOL.

Thank you to ReUsies and Tomoson for letting me do another review and giveaway! Super excited that someone will win something that can make their lives a little greener ;)

ToiletTree Products (Tomoson) - Product Review

I received a pair of straight point stainless steel tweezers and a stainless steel nail clipper with nail file for review from ToiletTree Products. The tweezers are AWESOME!! They are comfortable to use and the are so sharp that you can get even the shortest hair out. I really liked the curve of them too... I found them easy to use and had no problem using them.

The nail clipper and file set also came with a pouch to be able to keep both pieces together. The clippers are super strong..so they can get through thicker nails with no problem. The nail file was great and I liked the size of it, perfect for travelling. I also liked the shape of the clippers....probably the most comfortable ones I've used!

I really liked the finish on all the products, matte stainless steel which made them nice enough to leave on the counter with your other cosmetics.....and they come with a lifetime replacement warranty. These were perfect for throwing in my purse!

Thanks to ToiletTree Products and Tomoson for letting me do the review!

Maggie Bags - Review, Discount Code and Giveaway!!

I received a  dark gray tote of many colors from Maggie Bags for review. Maggie Bags makes totes out of seat-belts.....yes seat-belts .. and they're pretty cool actually! They get all the belts from the auto industry... very eco-friendly! They've saved about 1 million yards of seat-belts from the landfills... and made these really cool products with them!

I love the fact that it's literally the most durable tote I have. LOVE that it is easy to wash...and it didn't fray or pill after washing. I liked using this for the heavy stuff like groceries....the straps didn't hurt my hands and the stitching was awesome...but it was nice enough to use for daily use too!

I really liked that they have a warranty replacement policy too.... you don't really see that anymore....and that it came in a ton of colors. Literally I had a hard time deciding which one to review.

Thanks to Maggie Bags for sending us out such a cool tote! ... it's HUGE! I could fit a ton of stuff in this tote... I was even determining if I should use this as my hospital bag for when baby T comes.. then realized, that I'll prob be too tired to carry a bag and him..so packed my roll suitcase... I swear it was totally in the running AND probably fits the same amount as my suitcase! LOL!!!!

Hoo-Rag - Product Review

I received a couple of Hoo-Rags for review. Hoo-Rags are a blend of cotton and polyester...seamless bandanna that you can use in a ton of different ways. You can use it as a scarf....headband...face mask (which I did when the stair guy was staining the railing...lol)  and even a balaclava..which will come in hand this year when we go snowmobiling. Who am I kidding... when hubby gets to... new baby... I'm not going anywhere! LOL.

M decided to wear the Black Paisley Loose one as a tube shirt...then a scarf..then a bandanna. Actually...she had a ton of fun with them but I found them a bit more functional. Hubby grabbed the black and white logo version we received and used it to keep all the paint out of his hair when he was doing the basement. Funny thing... there wasn't a drop on it afterwards...LOL.

They have a bunch of different patterns and colors to choose from...and I like that these are much longer than a regular bandanna...plus its a tube...which makes it easier to get on...and have it stay on too! This will be great at keeping the bugs away at the ball park too!

Thanks to Hoo-Rag for reaching out and offering up a few to try... they work both in the dress up box for M and for us to use anytime!

olive&nell (Tomoson) - Product Review

I received 3 stretchy belts (1 of each style) for review from olive&nell. The first was the "Lizzy" which is a 9 inch thick band and we got it in the pink and black stripes. The second was the "Lexi" which is 4.5 inches in the turquoise bandanna print and finally the "Lila" in black...it has a big bow on it. All the belts are pre-washed and come in a ton of different patterns. These are all made in the USA, need to be hand-washed......and dry super fast! I did ours in the sink and within 10 min M was playing with them.

These are great for the little ones that are tall and skinny. M has a problem with the waist in her pants because she doesn't weigh very much....anything that fits in the waist are too short....so these were great. They were thick enough to go over her pants and over or under her shirt to help hold up her pants without bunching up. She laughed at me and said...look I can use this like you use yours! I looked at her funny...then realized she was talking about my belly band I use under my shirt so the bump doesn't escape...LOL.

The bow version she took too right away and wore it over a long shirt with tights...and it looked really cute. I think the bandanna print one may have just been her fave...but that's probably because she didn't use it as a belt. It ended up being a headband and she ran around like Bret Michael's all night...lol!!!

I liked that they were really stretchy, didn't bunch and that she wasn't bothered to wear any of them either.

Thanks to olive&nell for sending us out some to try!

Candy Japan - Product Review

I received 2 types of candy from Candy Japan to try out. Candy Japan sends out candy twice a month right from Japan worldwide. They send out the candy on the 14th and 28th of each month, and it is a monthly subscription. All the candy wrappers are in Japanese so be prepared to receive an email with an explanation of what you will be sent this came in handy for me.

First one we got to try out was by Chelsea. They were like a soft butterscotch shaped like a large jellybean. M wasn't a fan of these but I didn't mind them and neither did hubby. The texture took a bit of getting use to because it tasted like Werther's candy...but it was soft....so it threw me off a bit LOL...almost like the whole green ketchup fad that happened years ago...LOL.

The other candy was a Pokemon lollipop that had a package of loose candy to dip it in. This was really good, M liked it and so did I...hahahaha. The loose candy were like big pop rocks....M liked the lollipop more she's not used to that type of sensation...me... totally my fave!

Overall...it was great to try some different candy from another part of the world. Thanks to Candy Japan for sending them out!

Knickerbocker Glory - Product Review, Discount Code and Giveaway!

I received a pair of pink Bikerbocker Underouts from Knickerbocker Glory for review. They are knee length shorts that can be worn fully under clothes or as a layered piece. They are made from a Modal,  organic cotton and lycra blend which makes them super soft and "comfy cozy" as M would say...lol.

I liked that they let her body breathe and didn't have any awkward stitching or elastic bands to make marks on her skin. I also liked that she could wear them any time anywhere...under or as clothes and I never had to worry about any gaps or if they would fall down. The rise was high as well which allowed them to stay up as well while playing etc. They're also great for those hot summer days when you want to keep your layers to a minimum!

Knickerbocker Glory has a bunch of different lengths in bottoms and also a cami version....so you're able to make full outfits. There are a ton of colors.... bright and vibrant... and also... all funky and trendy which I liked. I wish they had these in my size!! How comfortable would the be while preggo... seriously!

Thanks to Knickerbocker Glory for sending M out a pair of Bikerbocker Underouts to try out.... she's totally hooked on them!

Calypso Studios - Product Review

I received a bunch of products from Calypso Studios for review. I received a few Bendi-Bandz Wire Headbands (one is black sequins and one in a floral print)... a few wrap bracelets and some reusable totes as well.  The Wire headbands are pretty cool.....M had a great time finding different ways to use it.... first it was a headband with a bow...then a holder for her bun in her hair...then a belt. The wire inside of the headbands were sturdy but pliable. I didn't have to worry about wearing it out of it having any sharp edges.

The wrap bracelets were great for me to wrap 3 times and wear or unwrap and M to use for a necklace. I really liked the beads and how they were constructed. I also liked the closure, thought it was funky and can be worn everyday or just on special occasions.

The reusable S.H.O.P totes  roll up small enough to throw in your purse. It comes in a set of 3 (green, orange and blue) and they come in a carrying case for storage. I liked that the stitching on these were tight and the material was easy to wash and comfortable to use. The snap closures are strong and easy to use. My favorite part was the pattern these all had! Love!

Thanks to Calypso Studios for sending out a ton of stuff... we had a great time testing everything!

SnoozeShade - Product Review

I received a SnoozeShade Original for review from BMB Distribution Ltd for review. A SnoozeShade is a fitted shade that can attach to  any single stroller and carrier. It keeps light out and also has UPF50+ protection so your baby can have an uninterrupted sleep. I like that the shade is breathable but dark enough for those little ones who like having a routine.....and I really like the zipper in the front so you can take a peek in on your sleeping beauty.
I also like the privacy aspect of using this shade....especially having a preemie. I use to get a ton of comments and people trying to guess how old M was while I walked around the mall. This way... put the SnoozeShade on...and really... just have yourself a good time. You have no idea how many times I was stopped....it got really annoying....fast!
I also like that I'll be able to use this for nights at the ball park to keep out the field lights (it blocks out 94% of incoming light) and the bugs away (bonus)..... I can totally see us using this all the time.... especially because it folds up really nicely and is easy to put on and take off.
Thanks to BMB Distribution (Canadian distributor) for sending me out a SnoozeShade to try out....baby T and M will be able to nap anywhere!

Elk Kids - Review and Giveaway!!

I received a pair of "Ella" shoes from Elk Kids for review. Elk Kids carries soft sole leather shoes, leather toddler shoes and hair clips. The leather used is all baby safe, super soft, and awesome because the color doesn't rub off the shoes...which is fantastic! Elk Kids

I absolutely loved these shoes.... they were stylish...the colors were awesome..and they were unique. AND... she has gotten a ton of compliments on them! The leather is great, stitching is durable, the soles are flexible and the insoles have almost a memory foam feel to them.

She liked that they were comfy, and the velcro made them easy to get on and off.....and well..the fact that she got a ton of attention in them.. LOL. Everyone asked where we got them...because they are so different.

These shoes do fit on the bigger size, and they are a bit on the wider side. So if you're one of those parents of a little one with pudgy feet...and have problems finding shoes that fit properly... look no further! Plus...prices are totally reasonable!

Huge thanks to Elk Kids for sending M out her new fave shoes! They are sooooo cute and the quality is awesome!
