Smile Sciences - Product Review

I received a Smile Sciences teeth whitening pen for review. It is a super easy to use twist-able whitening gel pen that allows you to whiten your teeth a few shades in about a weeks time. This product was on the show "The Doctors" a few months ago so I was interested in seeing if this actually worked.

It is really easy to use....brush your teeth... twist the pen and apply straight onto your teeth. Once that's done all you have to do is let it dry for about 30 seconds and stay away from eating or drinking for about a half hour to make sure you don't wash away the gel. Also, remember not to swallow it!

In comparison to whitening strips... I think this is way easier and less hassle, plus the ingredients look to be a bit stronger as well. With respects to your dentist version with the trays, which I also happen to have.... less of a clean up, but the dentist solution is stronger.

Overall, great for on the go and touch-ups! Thanks Smile Sciences!

Super Baby Food, 3rd edition Blog Tour - Review and Giveaway!

I received a copy of the 3rd edition of Super Baby Food for review. Everyone knows I make all of T's baby food so I was excited to get some new ideas about how to spice up meal time for him! Lately I've been thinking that his meals are pretty boring so I was glad to see this request come across my plate.... pun intended ;).

I liked that this book is an all in 1... recipes, baby supplies, money saving tips, nutrition and even cleaning tips. There's no way I'll ever be able to get through the whole thing... but I loved some new recipes I tried, included homemade yogurt, cheese thins and chili! Mr. Piggy will eat everything and anything so I was super excited that I was able to find things that the entire family enjoys.

I really liked that the book had techniques about how to prepare, store and freeze your homemade food, for all the newbies out there...right down to remembering to keep clean utensils away from other grubby little hands to limit the amount of bacteria your LO comes in contact with. I also loved all the tips about when to introduce certain types of food, how to introduce them and some of the reactions your LO may have to certain things... i.e cucumbers can cause digestive problems (who knew!).

Anyway, I'm still making my way through this book, but I have removed quite a few of the other books on my recipe shelf and replaced them with this all in one.

Thanks Super Baby Food for sending me out your 3rd edition and making me part of the Blog Tour!

Glerups - Review and Giveaway!!

I received a pair of charcoal kids slippers for review from Glerups. Glerups are indoor shoes and slippers that are made from wool (felt) and have leather soles which have a natural anti-slip quality to them. I love that they are 100% wool (remember not to wash in hot water) and that they form to fit your feet while you wear them.

M said that they were really comfy to wear...while I liked that they were warm, well constructed and that they looked great on her. There are also 3 styles to choose from....slipper, shoe and boot. LOVE the boot...may have to get myself a pair...they would be great at the cottage!

I loved that M could wear these anywhere in the house on all different flooring we have...from tile to hardwood and even carpet and that the soles didn't pick up any animal hair in between vacuums. If you need to give these a wash use cold or lukewarm water. If you need any detergent, powdered is ok or even dish soap. I used some powdered green detergent and didn't have any issues soaking or cleaning. Overall... really nice and easy to keep in good shape!

Thanks Glerups!

Gro-suit - Product Review

I received a 2 pack of Gro-suits for review from Oyaco. They are to be used with the Gro-bag (which is a wearable blanket for bedtime). These are sleepers with quilted arms to help keep their arms warm while using the Gro-bag.

We have tried a bunch of wearable blankets and all are sleeveless to help your LO regulate their body temperature...but I did notice T does wake up with cold hands and arms sometimes, even with wearing a sleeper. These are the answer to my problems! The suits fit T well, are soft and washed really well....plus the penguin pattern is super cute!!!!

I really liked that the whole sleeper wasn't quilted, just the arms...so I know T won't overheat when wearing any of his wearable blankets, even when we're out at Daddy's ball games! It is usually pretty warm when we get there but gets cold half way through the game, so this is helpful when the temperature drops. Great for the cottage too!

These are perfect for the chilly weather coming, thanks Oyaco!

The Sox Box - Product Review and Giveaway!

I received a pair of Blue Strong Mama socks from The Sox Box for review. First off, I LOVE funky socks... especially ones that are fun and totally work for ball playoffs! LOL. To give you an idea, yes... I wore black socks this year with googly eyes all over them....so when I got to choose a pair from Sox Box I was super excited. The Strong Mama in blue (my fave color) were the ones I fell in love with! OMG, they have a ton to choose from so it took me forever!

These are a blend of cotton, nylon, spandex and polypropylene which make them comfy, stretchy and allow them to stay put! I loved that they are knee highs and have extra material on the foot and toe areas so they'll last a long time and my feet aren't sore after being in my runners or cleats for a long time.

The saying....obviously loved it...and they washed awesome! Plus 20% of the proceeds got to independencefund.org which helps veterans injured in the line of duty which I think is great!

Thanks Sox Box! Can't wait to wear these next season!

Tiger Balm Neck & Shoulder Rub - Product Review and Giveaway!!!

I received a tube of Tiger Balm Neck and Shoulder Rub for review. This is used for your regular aches and pains from stress and tightness like working behind a desk to sports injuries. I liked the size of the tube, it's easy to use and on the slimmer size, so it doesn't take up a ton of room. The menthol is uber strong but fades so it's not like you will smell like it all day. I didn't find it greasy to put on, but did have a heard time getting it off my hands, took a few good washing's to get it off.

Ingredients include menthol and eucalyptus which help to sooth your muscles. Hubby used this after a ball game, said the menthol helped it loosen his muscles. You can use this 3-4 times a day and like other products like this, keep away from the heating pad while using this! Thanks Tiger Balm!

Orthodontic Pacifier - Product Review

I received a pair of Difrax's Orthodontic Pacifiers for review. Difrax Orthodontic pacifiers help with the
development in the muscles jaw and mouth as well as help to form the palate. This paci has a round top with a flat edge at the bottom and the holder is a butterfly shape with holes. Your LO will be able to press the paci to the roof of their mouth and hold it there without having any discomfort.

They carry different stages from preemie to 18+ months and they are sized properly for each stage. I liked the color of these, they were cute and bright. T on the other hand... not really a fan. They are much harder than the natural rubber ones he is use to. So for him... not a home run but that's ok. I did find that he liked chewing on them while he was trying to suck on them. I liked that these came in 5 different sizes, which means your LO would always have the right fit...and that it will actually help their mouths develop properly. It's too bad T has his fave already!

Thanks Difrax!

Tovolo - Product Review and Giveaway!

I received a few products to try out from Tovolo for review. I'll start off with the pack of Perfect Poach pouches. They are little bags you drop your egg into prior to putting it in the water to poach your egg. They're kind of like mini coffee filters that are cone shaped....all you do is break your egg into the pouch and boil as per usual...the pouch seals itself once in the water. They are awesome!!! Hubby loves poached eggs so he was all over these for breakfast on Sunday mornings! Once you slip your poached egg out, you can throw the pouch into the recycle box! No messy clean up and the eggs turned out perfect each time.

Colossal Cube Ice Molds are great for punch bowls and any liquors that you like on the rocks. They melt slower than smaller ice cubes so your drink doesn't get cut with a ton of water. It kept everything evenly cold, which was great! I actually didn't have any glasses to fit these cubes, they're HUGE... so I used a large mug... I know...classy eh? They were easy to make too... fill up the mold and freeze! I liked that they can stack on top of each other and are dishwasher safe!

The Tabletop Citrus Reamer is awesome! I make a ton of salsa (with

lime juice) and I always drink water with lemon..so this was a great product to review. All you do is place a piece of fruit in the base and squish it with the reamer. The strainer keeps all the pulp and seeds out while the base collects all the juice. I liked that the base had a pouring spout and was super easy to clean.

The Spatulart Jack O'Lantern Nylon Flex Turner and the Mini Mummy and Monster (set of 2 ) Spatulart are all Halloween themed. The Turner is a Jack O'Lantern, and is great for my non-stick pans... plus it doesn't scratch them. It is the perfect size for pancakes and I liked that it had a stainless steel handle...quality wise...totally awesome! The mini spatulas are cute! One is a Mummy, the other Frankenstein. They are nice and flexible.... to get every drop of pancake (or whatever you're making) out of the bowl and the size is great...and it even fits in the blender! The best part of these...hands down... they're stain resistant AND the heads of the spatulas are removable so you can stick them in the dishwasher!
Thanks to Tovolo for sending us out some cool kitchen products to try out!

Wipes Wrap - Product Review

I received a Wild Tiger Wipes Wrap from Clever Relish for review. A Wipes Wrap is made from a stretchy material in fun prints and it slips on your wipe tub to add a little punch of color to any room. All parents
probably have wipes tubs stashed all over the house...and they aren't that nice to look at! This gives you an option to conceal those ugly tubs!

It is hand wash in cold water which is ok... I think if you put it in the machine you wouldn't be able to find it.... there's not a ton of material to the wrap so it's better to wash it yourself. It took me a couple of tries to get it on the tub... but once I did it was a snug fit and it didn't pop or slip off. I did find it a little difficult to remove for some reason but I'm sure I would get the hang of it after a few more tries....just for those times that you need a refill.

Unfortunately, I don't like the pattern at all... something I would never pick...so off it comes. There are a ton of different patterns to choose from...48 to be exact... so I'm sure there's something for everyone. I probably would have picked the grey lace one...or the blue polks dots for T's room.

Thanks Clever Relish!

Euphoric Herbals - Product Review and Giveaway!

I received some Dairy Diva for review from Euphoric Herbals. These are used to help increase milk supply for breastfeeding Mamas! These have a blend of natural ingredients without using fenugreek in the blend, which is almost unheard of for this type of product. Dairy Queen...has fenugreek, Dairy Diva does not...it uses shatavari root as the replacement as fenugreek has a tendency to lower blood sugar so you just need to watch if you have issues with your sugars that it's better to go with Dairy Diva.

I have been taking a prescription to help with my milk supply as it is starting to dwindle off..so I was all for trying a more natural way to help out. T is 8 months, I think I've done a good job...but I want to try to get him to a year!

How did it work for me? It did give me the tingles...so I knew it was helping..and I did feel fuller. My supply is slowly so  this will be great to help me keep at the level I am now or increase marginally... I think for those that have been nursing for a shorter period of time than me may see a higher increase....but now that I'm a pro...I totally noticed a difference from when I took them and when I didn't.

Thanks Euphoric Herbals!

Leonisa - Product Review

I received a Contour Shaper (body short compression body shaper) for review from Leonisa. This one sits under your bra and has a zip up body with boy shorts. This is uber compression...had removable/adjustable straps and clips at the front with a zipper. I liked that this was higher in the back and that it feels really soft. It also sucked in any of the "Mommy bulge" that needed to be smoothed out and the boy shorts stay in place really well. Everything looked smoother and it helped showed off my curves while allowing me to still wear a nursing bra...I wish I found this right after my c-section...would have been great for helping give structure and support while healing.

I did notice it gets easier to wear after a few tries... the first time it was really tight, where times after that was more comfortable but still had the same compression which was great. As always, I made sure to not wear any rings and to be careful not to catch a nail on it while I squirmed into it. This is a hand wash and hang dry garment, which is a pain but really...it's worth the trouble to keep it looking and feeling new.

Thanks Leonisa!
